It gives students a chance to see what campus is like and if they are interested in other things before they make the commitment to an organization. It gives them a chance to see indy life before they commit to Greek life. It also allows them to see if they have that amount of time to invest while also being a student. It gives students a chance to get a better idea of the houses through observation and coming across members during that first semester. It gives pnms who are not superstars or connected a better chance to establish themself and present themselves better at a deferred rush.
