There are going to be mean people anywhere you go, that's just life. But in terms of UA as a whole, I haven't really encountered a lot of mean people just walking through campus or in classes. But in terms of Greek life, I can definitely say I've encountered more rude/judgy people... And it's not just girls. I've met a lot of boys (both in frats and not) who are extremely judgmental of what you look like and what sorority you're in, however they're more so concerned with what you look like as opposed to what letters you're wearing. And if I'm being honest, in sororities there's a lot gossiping and sly judgement. And that goes for EVERY sorority, I'm in a sorority that's known for having a "good sisterhood" and we still have these issues. I've met a lot of girls in various houses that think they're better than you because of this and that. I've also met a lot of girls who are just straight up mean and you can tell that they just go through life depending on good looks and/or money. BUT, this doesn't speak on behalf of everyone. The amount of nice girls I've met significantly outweighs the amount of rude girls I've met. There are SO many amazing and genuine girls in ALL the houses here. As I said, there are going to be mean people anywhere you go. But that doesn't mean that there aren't also sincere people.
