Not a ZTA. But feel this COB subject is made to imply something bad and it's not. COB is a good thing. More women get to join that really want a sorority. Many women graduate in December and some chapters wish to fill their openings right away. Some nationals guidelines allow chapters to decide how close to total they need to stay. Also, many chapters lose new members before initiation. New members just don't realize the commitment involved and the costs. Or they like the idea of a sorority during recruitment but really aren't the group joining type of person long term. It's just part of life. People come and go-- Especially in 400 member chapters. A 5% swing in membership is not anything.
