Don't be afraid to pack light because if you need to you can ALWAYS buy something! For example, no one ever dressed up for parties at my high school like we did in college so when I showed up to bama I had nothing to wear for parties. I just went out and got a few tops, borrowed my roomies, etc until I had enough that worked for me. Also, if you can, go home for as many school holidays as possible and while you are home return/exchange some of the clothing you brought but didn't really wear. There's no need to bring a sweater with you in August if you can go home and get it during the midterm break or even Thanksgiving.
