Stands for "over the mountain" which refers to suburbs in BHM that are south of the downtown/south side. It usually refers to mb, homewood, most of Hoover, vestavia, and Inverness/oak mountain areas. The Summit shopping area in BHM is smack in the middle of OTM country. Suburbs of BHM not considered OTM are places like Gardendale Trussville Chelsea alabaster Pelham. Those are great places just not called OTM
