I honestly don't know. The advantage of taking classes at home is that you're home. It's a hassle to transfer the classes and such but it can be cheaper. The advantage of taking classes at UA is that there may be a potential upperclassman or two in a class that may be able to pull for you and you know the classes will easily end up on your transcript. If your paying for a summer rental anyway, the cost difference might not be that much. The most important thing is graduating and graduating on time. That's why you're going to college. I didn't rush until I was a sophomore. I was from out of state and wanted to focus on my grades my first year. I went into recruitment with all my recs, a decent gpa (3.5), and no pre-conceived idea of where I would fit best. I just knew I would land somewhere and make it work. But, I'm not going to sugar coat it, most of the sophomore girls I know had similar ( or better) resumes to mine and were happy to land in any house. The most jarring issue isn't your gpa- it's that you pledged a house with 140 plus other girls and didn't think you could find your girls there. They chose you; they wanted you. Another house is going to wonder if they give you a spot, are you going to do the same thing to them and take a spot from a girl that would be ecstatic to be there. I don't know you. I don't know your friends or how much pull they have in their houses for you. All you can do is try and see what happens.
