<strong>Subject:</strong><br />rush advice for freshmen<br /><br /> Poster Message:
since this site is flooded with advice for rush i figure ill give mine: just join the house that has people you like. pretending to be someone you arent for the purpose of securing a bid from a top/upper/mid whatever house is not going to benefit you in any way, you will just be miserable. I know people who joined top houses because they wanted to be in a top house even though they were probably a better fit in an org that isnt as highly "ranked" and they are miserable. During rush, if you vibe with a top house and get a bid, great! Im not saying dont rush/join top houses, but just be yourself, dont pretend to be someone youre not so you can get a bid. As controversial as this may seem, every house brings something to the table and if youre a decent person you can add value to that organization and help recruit other people that you like to join that org. Personally, when I rushed I got 2 bids, I vibed more with the house that was ranked lower, so I joined it and have not regretted it for a second. If you are around people you like, your greek life experience will be so much better.
