Everyone is going to tell you to join where you feel most comfortable and where you feel like you fit in. Not everyone listens to that though. You may think you're above that advice and join the highest "ranked" sorority you can get into. But please keep in mind that a bid doesn't mean you'll automatically be accepted by these girls socially. A lot of people go into their sororities with a friend group, intentional or not, and ALL sororities are cliquey, due to the nature of the large MCs. Joining a sorority is one of the best parts of my Cornell experience but when it comes down to it, maybe I (and a lot of other girls) could've been been a bit happier in a sorority that I felt more aligned to instead of chasing a status. This isn't meant to scare any freshmen, if you feel good talking to the girls during the rounds then obviously join wherever, but if things feel wrong and you're purely just joining for the status it isn't going to take you as far as you think.
