"She got dropped by all her top choices..." You didn't say she got dropped by ALL the sororities. Southern girls have friends in "top" established houses. Those sororities have many more rushees than spots. If a girl has no strong established connections at a top house BEFORE rush -- its harder to get a bid. Not impossible. But very difficult. Do the math. There are other "good" houses which do take lots of girls without prior connections. If your friend didn't want to accept one of these houses. Then she's SOL. SEC sorority rush is tough.
