I agree it's shallow, but know that joining a chapter because you want to be in a certain tier is not the way to go. When you go through recruitment make sure you take notice of the conversations you're having with the girls in each house. Look for the ones that are most genuine and where you connect more. That's how you'll be able to find where you best fit. At the end of it all you should have found a place where you feel comfortable and belong, not somewhere where you think you're better than someone because of your letters. Trust the system and follow it and you'll end up where you're supposed to be.
