Subject:
a gdi who supports the greek

Poster Message:
I am a gdi. I 100% support fraternities. I chose not to rush for a few reasons I won't get into here, but all of my friends rushed. So what? I am still friends with them. I am dating a girl in a sorority. My social life is as flexible as I want it to be. I can still go to parties because I'm not a squid. I think greek life is a great thing - i can see how close the members are with each other. I think the social events are awesome at every house. The houses raise a ton of money with charity events. I literally see no reason anyone should dislike greek life. In fact, one of the reasons i came to Lehigh was to be in a greek school. Though i decided not to rush, I really enjoy the greek scene. I wouldn't change my school decision for the world. I could have gone to a "better" school (if being ranked a few spots ahead in usnwr means better), but those schools didn't have the same greek life i wanted. Because lehigh was work hard play hard, i was attracted. But, if things continue the way they are now, i would have probably gone to a different school. it's sad to see the school i applied ed to is different now than it was not too long ago. I think the destruction of such a previously strong organization is really shameful and the moment greek life is off the campus is the moment i kiss any potential donations to lehigh good bye. there are no sound arguments to end greek life - just rehashed bs pushed by the administration and the gdis who dont have any friends. SAD! Don't generalize geeds, as many of us really do love the greek system and benefit from it but just chose not to rush.
