DPhiE was also founded as a Jewish sorority. Both they and SDT exist because Jewish girls were not widely accepted in the other sororities. As long as that situation existed those two had healthy memberships. But now that landscape has changed and all NPC sororities take girls of all faiths and the Jewish girls go to all houses now. This hurt SDT and DPhiE in taking huge numbers of potential members away, and also it has been harder for those two to shake their historical deleniation and recruit widely. DPhiE left UGA for a while when their membership dropped and is now building back, and SDT seems just fine with being a small niche chapter, the Bama chapter is like that.
