You might not care, but it's a big deal. This affects alums, recs, reps, social, where nationals puts their moneys. When 40% of the pledges at Alabama graduate from Texas high schools, then they come home in 4 years and put their money into local chapters, you'll care. When sororities' nationals pull support from SEC schools (hi nonexistent DZ chapters) or put in a concerted effort to rebuild their SEC presence (do you think it's a coincidence that ADPi nationals has recolonized at LSU and OLe Miss and has totally rebuilt the A&M chapter... just when they join the SEC??) then you'll see why it matters. If all you care about is your campus, you're totally missing the point of Greek life.
