She is correct that there is an "upper class quota" which is in addition to the regular quota (which is based on a formula of how many girls attended pref plus some other factors). The upper class quota does not count against regular quota, and is usually less than 10% (if that) of regular quota. Two things though: 1. A sorority does not HAVE to take upper class quota new members (though almost all do). 2. The sorority can put you on their regular bid list as an upper class. A and M is a lot more laid back than other SE Conference schools (Bama, LSU, etc.) or UT. Lots of girls join every years as sophomores.
