A parent or alumna who lives in Madison or Collierville is going to be able to do more for a chapter than one who lives in Boise. Given the choice between two girls exactly alike save that one lives in Madison and the other in Boise, the Madison girl should be ranked first. Having a large number of alumna near the chapter house makes for a stronger chapter. Members are not selected based on their parents' net worth. But certainly the knowledge that a girl will be able to pay her sorority bill without financial hardship is a factor to be considered, as it should be.
