Some may argue that it changes your experience, but I would say no. I'm in a "middle/lower tier" sorority and I have still had THE best college experience I could ask for. The only thing that your tier will influence are the people you hang out with. Certain sororities and fraternities sometimes gravitate towards each other. I've never really experienced people treating me badly because of my Greek affiliation. If anyone ever treats you like you're beneath them because of affiliation, that's someone you wouldn't want to be your friend anyways.
