In my sorority, if a girl received a negative rec, she will not be invited back past the first round, no matter how much we love her. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does happen, there is no way she will get in. Often times girls are so concerned with finding ladies to write their recs that they don't consider the very real reality that the Rec writer may not like them.
