You are if you have no connections. Basically we do have time to get to know you within the first six weeks of classes, but it's not as easy as you think. We might meet in class or at a bar (rarely) or at a frat party, whatever, but by the time classes start we all have already picked our favorites and all our attention will be on rushing them. Honestly, unless you are a super model or have famous parents or some other claim to fame, you don't really have a shot at the top six houses. The bottom houses at this time have only put together lists of who is not getting invited back. They won't start putting their bid lists together until after the first round if rush.
