Okay, so I talked to the office of greek affairs today and this is what they told me. You're rec writers DO NOT have to be an Ole Miss Alum. However, through research I have done, it seems the houses give you more "points" if it is from a chapter alumni. What I am going to do is get letters from my local alumnae chapters. It was recommended to me that you call the big university around you (their office of greek life), and explain your situation, and see if they can help you get in touch with local alumnae chapter. From this website, it seems the letter of support is from someone who knows you personally and is more informal. The rec is more formal. You should try to shoot to get these letters from people you know(or meet) because it will look better than some generic rec letter. Have your resume ready for the people who writer your letters, as well as a large stamped envelope that is addressed with a thank you note to your writer. I am going to try to get one ole miss alum and one rec writer that knows me for each house and then a few letters of support! Best of luck to you!!!
