A rec is a form letter. A letter of support is a hand written letter on personal stationary. It is far better to get your rec from an ole miss alum than someone who is not from ole miss. If it will make you feel better, get two recs, one from an ole miss alum and one who knows you better. The letters of support are far more personal and should come from someone who knows you well. Top tier is not for everyone, if you don't hunt down those chapter alumni, then no tears on bid day! We don't want you coming back on here telling is how mean girls were to you when you didn't put forth the effort to try to find recs and connections. Hunt down those recs! You never know when you might meet someone who can introduce you to actives in the house'.
