Such bad advice! Here's the deal: most large cities have Panhellenic associations. Find one close to you! These Panhellenic associations will have some type of spring event like a luncheon or fashion show or round table. In my city this takes place in February. They will help you! Do not get your advice from this website! In my city they told us to start lining up recs immediately after their February event. They told us how important it was to get your packets in before classes let out in may! The idea is to get on the sororities radar early. Pretty much all of the top houses already have preliminary lists done before classes end. Lists are started during our spring rush workshops that start in march! We will try to rush our favorites all summer long. If you wait until our deadlines, chances are we won't have heard about you before classes start in August, and you are highly likely to be cut after first round! Start lining up your recs now! In my city, after may 1st, the ladies are ready to go on summer vacation with their families and are less likely to want to take the time to write a rec!
