I would say that being a legacy is nice and could help you, but it most likely doesn't matter as much as you think it does. Being a legacy in no way guarantees you a bid, it only means that the sorority could take a closer look at you because of the status. Being a legacy doesn't mean you'll be the best fit for that particular house on any campus, even if it's the same house your mother/sister/etc (what relative counts depends on the sorority) attended. We're all individuals and are judged on their own merits. The only connections I personally think are significant enough to really matter are those to national officers. Our rush is the definition of competitive, always keep that in mind. ALL of the houses at Ole Miss are amazing and rush at this campus is so competitive that any house at Ole Miss would be considered top tier at almost any other school. I think you need to just put your best foot forward and realize that every house has very similar wonderful things to offer to all their members. Sure, some people on this website have sticks up certain body parts and say the most terrible things about certain houses, but that doesn't necessarily make those things true and the fact is that being in any sorority is a privilege and not a right. And with the pledge classes being as large as they are, every single house is going to have a good mix of personalities at the end of the day and you'll find people you click with in whatever house gives you a bid.
