I would be impressed if Greek Life/ Panhellenic could come forward in coming weeks and clarify what will happen going forward. There's no way our chapters won't be getting bigger to make up for one less chapter on campus. I wish as a campus we could accept differences in Greek life and be accommodating of personal preference. Not all of us want the same things (in general in life!) or have the same experiences at houses. There should be enough houses that fit different personality types and we should stop approaching rush as this referendum on whether everyone likes the same houses. It's best when PNMs want different things and feel comfortable picking from different houses, rather than being shamed if they like one house that another girl doesn't see as her perfect fit. I know I'm preaching to the choir on this thread. We also often advise PNMs that even if they wind up in a house they are less than psyched about to give it a fair try and see if it grows on them. Often those new members end up happy and content to stay in a house that might not have been on their radar at first; some girls de-pledge and that is fine too. What this shows is that a lot of us could be happy in different sororities and as a greek system we should keep that in mind before bad-mouthing other houses. We're more similar than not and whatever differences there are make our community richer. Thanks for reading my novel. I've just had a lot of thoughts over the last week.
