Yes. Here's a comparison: rush is like a job hunt. The person with in-house connections at Company A will almost always get the interview over the person with no connections there. Another comparison to a job hunt: when you interview for a job, the manager can really, really like you - they can even wish you could get the job, but they also know that you might not be a fit for the company culture. They also are not going to be rude or dismissive of you while at the interview just like girls on houses aren't going to be that. You might even make it through couple of rounds of interviews because they do like you until they determine you're really not a fit for the job. Is that fair? Nope, but life isn't fair. If there's one thing I would want PNM's to understand is that rush isn't fair, based on many factors, and I think the job hunt comparison is a good way to look at it. If life were fair, everyone would have what they want. Also - this is important - a house can really like you but also know that you're not a fit for their sisterhood. I've met many girls that I really enjoyed and liked, but I also knew they would be a better fit somewhere else. So liking you doesn't mean they want to pledge you.
