You have to continuously tell yourself that everything you see on social media isn't true. A TON of the girls that are smiling and looking so happy on instagram are feeling the same way as you. Everyone wants it to look like they are having so much fun already and have made a million friends, but it isn't true for most people. Make sure you're putting in the effort; talk to girls in the bathroom in the mornings, on the elevator, in the C Store, etc. be friendly to people in class. Freshman year is really hard before rush (and after too). For most people, it gets way better! I love it here, but there have been multiple times where I've had a hard time and just don't feel welcome. But it is this way at any college. Most people that transfer came from far away and didn't really know anyone to begin with or they want to be closer to home. Some people have to transfer for their major too. Think about all the people that have stayed, though. It is a way way bigger number. Hang in there, stick it out, and put in 150% effort in making friends. But make sure you're being genuine and not just trying to fit in with whoever you're talking to. Be yourself so that the friends you find will be genuine. You will also have a lot easier time making friends in your sorority if you pick your sorority based on who you are not who you want to be.
