The best advice anyone can give you is to check with the Ole Miss Panhellenic Council. They do have a website that will explain the recruitment process. If I were you I would email them with your question. It is true that the sororities do prefer to have girls who are in it for the 4 year run, but we all know there are girls who leave after the first semester or after a year. There are a couple of sororities that do not require recs according to the panhellenic site, however one of those requires Ole Miss connections. The other is known as an out of state sorority so they might be willing to consider your application. There are foreign students in several sororities but most are here for the full four years. Personally I think it could be possible for you to find a sorority that would be willing to get to know you and allow you to spend your year with them, but I can't say for sure. Check with the Panhellenic Council.
