This is excellent advice. I'd also let your Gamma Chi know HOW she can help you and what the attacks look like. Not everyone knows what they might look like so that is important for her to know, especially if you need more than water. I've read that things like Gatorade help hydrate you better than water (which is why football players use it, especially in the heat of summer when practicing) so maybe have that on hand. I've suffered from anxiety as well - perhaps not to the degree you have - and deep breathing has always helped me, so maybe do that before you go off to parties. And distraction can help - focus on getting to know your fellow PNM's and have fun with that, perhaps that will make a difference. Most of all, realize as "Hey" wrote, that if you maximize every option during rush, you will get a bid.
