I'd not worry about top tier - I'd focus on getting to know EVERY house to see which one you like best - AND which ones invite you back. Focusing only on certain houses is a sure way to have a poor rush. And I agree with the above poster - pledge classes for top tier houses are pretty much selected before rush based on connections. There's always a few girls who get bids into top tier who knew no-one but that's not the norm.
