Oxford has a nice little downtown. Even if you are from a large urban city you can appreciate it's value (unless you're one of those people who just can't find value in anything other than yourself). The shopping is limited but usually adequate and Memphis is a little over an hour away. Although you will probably want to do your school supply shopping before you get here as everything sells out quickly. The restaurants here are fantastic, PLENTY of places to eat, even some for late hours. One word of caution: these people CAN NOT drive. It's like bumper cars on a track. You can expect to be hit or nearly hit daily. Pretty much every store in town is located on two very poorly designed roads. It's a nightmare. They probably blame OOS students, but most of the crazies I've had to dodge have Mississippi tags. Police aren't very helpful and they don't seem to care if you're run off the road or someone hits and run. Other than the entire 'good luck driving here' it's not a bad place.
