madison central is probably the best public high school in state, but the private schools around jackson are better, so the ones at madison central actually end up in mid to low tier. Quite a few went APhi last year. Jackson prep/academy might act like they run ole miss, but the truth is they know who their daddy is (st. andrews). Prep/Academy are very cheap private schools ($8K a year). St Andrews is over $30K a year, and is the only high school in state where you have several people leave the state for good private colleges. Oak Grove, Biloxi, Ocean Springs, Tupelo, Oxford, Desoto Central aren't as good as madison central, but they are in areas where there are either no private schools or the private schools suck and the public schools are better. Quite a few people from these schools end up in top tier, but very few (I don't personally know any) madison central girls in top tier
