ole miss top tier is all legacy based with a few spots for some very good friends of actives that are from the same home town. bama is also legacy based that favors a few hometowns but if you aren't legacy or from one of those alabama cities, you can still get in if you have a great app, the same can't be said with ole miss. ole miss is more frat. top houses run the school even though they are just legacies and did nothing to earn it. bama obviously the football players there are gods and run that school. as far as bros, I think you'll be a 6-8 on a 10 point scale with everyone at your house here. bama is more like a 5 with most of your frat but you'll have a few best friends at 9 and 10. very few guys here have best friends from ole miss (if they are best friends they were probably best friends before ole miss). a lot of girls have close friends but i am not sure how legit that is. after they graduate they just stop talking to each other for the most part. a lot of oos like ole miss, but i will admit a lot of oos students hate ole miss too. i don't think too many oos hate bama and I am guessing because there is a lot of other things going on there than ole miss. ole miss is very greek based. there obviously you have football, but more clubs, bigger city and more diverse student body to meet people like you. ole miss has a type...either you are it or you aren't. if you are still deciding...i'd consider the legacy the deciding factor. ole miss is more for legacies or people that want to stay in the state after graduation.
