This question will only attract the bitter old biddies, and most of them are terrified of the sororities that are the mainly made of OOS students. AOPi is considered a respectable sorority. Most of the AOPis I know are high achievers and are involved on campus. They came to Ole Miss with outstanding resumes, they just didn't come here with Ole Miss connections. They have had the same recruitment and retention rates as DG, Pi Phi and Phi Mu and also maintain a GPA within the same range as those three. From what I understand they recruited one of highest GPA pledge classes this past fall of any of the sororities. When I went through recruitment there were several AOPi legacies hoping to pledge AOPi and they are happy with their choice. You will see a lot of negative comments about all the sororities on this site, but this site attracts some really negative people, although they are probably all sitting in church every Sunday morning feeling very pious. I would strongly suggest that you come to Ole Miss with an open mind. Recruitment is tough here, and it is not a good idea to get your hopes up on one particular sorority. Get recommendations/referral letters to every sorority and make sure whoever is giving your recommendation knows how and where to send the information. Come to recruitment prepared.
