Just some numbers here, Nashville's population is more than 1/6 of Mississippi's entire population. Jackson is the largest city in MS and its population is around 170,000. The next largest is Gulfport with around 71,000. Tennessee has 6 cities with populations above 100,000 and we only have 1. They have 2 above 600,000. Also the richest person in MS is worth over a billion dollars. So we do have wealthy people, just not tons.
