Being a transfer can be challenging and lonely -- and you need to be one tough cookie to go through rush. I speak from experience. I'm sorry you've had a hard time finding a group of friends. My ideas may not be brilliant but I made some of my closest friends by reaching out to classmates in my major. I just made myself see if any of the girls I liked wanted to grab dinner or coffee (etc.) after class. It was hard but I put myself out there. The other thing I did is play a club sport. Obviously, that part depends on what your interests are. I promise you will make friends. It takes a bit more effort and time than making friends on your hall your freshman year but it is possible. I know you're not asking about sororities but I ended up joining a house I didn't think would and I've actually had tons of fun and met lots of nice girls. It really is what you make of it and it's impossible not to find people you like in a house of 400. But you don't have to join a sorority to make friends! You're brave for reaching out and with that attitude you'll find your tribe. Hugs to you!
