With our second year of variable quota, I was happy. The traditional MS houses got to keep the best girls from MS and Memphis, and keep their status as desirable MS houses. The best OOS girls are going to other houses. If we keep doing this for several years, I think we'll eventually reach a Bama type of ranking where there is an Old Row/New Row distinction...if you're a top girl from MS, you'll want one group of homes, if you're a top girl from Atlanta or Texas you'll want another set. There's at least one non-traditional sorority that is getting a "top tier" group of girls when you exclude MS connections, and I think you'll see a trend of OOS and big city girls with less Ole Miss connections preferring that sorority more and more each year, and there's room for another sorority or two to also do the same thing. Every single house has gotten a stronger pledge class than what they would have had in the past. The top houses are picking their top girls that they already know and love, the middle houses are getting girls with less connections but that honestly would be considered a top house anywhere else, and the smallest chapters are getting huge pledge classes of quality girls.
