I know you've heard it a million times, but don't choose a house over another solely because it's in a "higher" tier. I know you just came here and don't know what greek life is really like once you're in it. I know you may feel that choosing a house "higher" on the tiers will make you more respected/loved/popular but it WON'T, trust me as a PNM I believed this false logic. Truth is, fraternity guys won't care which sorority you're in. Your out of house friends won't care which house you're in. Your employers won't care and neither will your future boyfriend/husband. You choose your final house based on which one makes you feel like you belong. Yeah sororities like to compete because it's fun and it feels good to know you recruited the best you could, but all the sororities here at Ole Miss truly respect each other. No respectable greek woman will treat you badly because you're in a different "tier" than her. Forget the tiers. Tiers really only exist on Greekrank. I have seen first hand girls choose the "higher" house because they think life will be better, only to drop out their sophomore year when they realize they made the wrong choice and passed up the sisterhood that was right for them. Go with what your heart tells you and you can't go wrong.
