A similar thing happened to me at the sorority I wanted (and it was one of the most selective). Oh, they loved me, blah, blah, blah -- just not enough to pref me. The problem was, I's ranked other houses low bc I was dead set on this one house. I was crushed. And it was late in the game. I had one other house left and they took me. I wish the "top" house had cut me from the beginning if it was not in the cards because I could have made more strategic decisions as far as how I ranked houses. I know it hurts so much, but please persevere. I know there will more than one house that is excited to meet you and welcome you as a new member. And it was true that I wanted to be where I was wanted, once I got over my hurt feelings. The cuts are brutal here -- it's about sheer numbers as opposed to knowing PNMs.. Houses could fill themselves only with legacies if they wanted. As you continue through this week, the houses that invite you back will actually get to know you. Hugs.
