I really, really wish someone had explained this to me before recruitment. I was heartbroken because it never occurred to me that cuts were much more about numbers than a couple of friends' opinions of me. I was crushed when top houses, where I had friends, cut me, but other girls had amazing connections with, let's say, ten girls while I had one friend pulling for me. By the way, I stayed friends with those girls in top houses and attended some events with them at their house. Not a huge hell of a difference between their experience and mine. Very eyeopening. I'm not suggesting that you intentionally avoid a top house but just that if you don't end up where you dreamed, please remember that you aren't necessarily missing out on a totally different experience.
