This is excellent helpful advice. If I hadn't kept a certain sorority (which I did like just not as "prestigious" as my other top picks) I would have come down to prefs and been cut out of rush. I fortunately had that one house left and I got a bid. I know people mock the national reputation of sororities but that was the reason I kept my "safety" and it turned out to be a helpful plan. Be strategic, as Really writes!! You want a full schedule for return invitations so you have some more choices as the week progresses. Do not let the top houses cut you out of recruitment. You need to be able to have a say in where you end up.
