If you do not suicide and do rank both your houses (IF you do have two houses because you might only have one) then there is still a small chance you would get your 1st choice as a quota addition. For this to happen you would have to be ranked quite low by both houses; so low that each would fill quota before they got to you. As a quota addition, you would likely be placed with your first choice. If you suicide (SIP) and don't get that bid, your chance at getting a COB with the house you want is the lowest of the low odds, and an even worse chance of getting any house as a sophomore. Rank all your houses and take that bid where you are wanted. You have a 50-50 chance of loving that house after all.
