I absolutely harbor no ill will toward my legacy sorority, I still have several good friends that I met during recruitment that are members of that sorority. The way I look at it is they are still the sorority sisters to my mom. However I don't think all legacies are considered equally. For the top tiers Ole Miss connections are going to be given preference whether it's legacy or high school/hometown connections. Honestly it's those connections that get you invited to the informal recruitment events where 95% of the decisions are made. I don't have a problem with that at all, each sorority has the right to choose who they want and how they make that decision. You are so right about the impressive resumes! I left my school as one of the 'star/popular' girls. I came to Ole Miss and discovered lots of girls with amazing resumes, made me look like a slacker! I ended up in a middle tier sorority and you couldn't throw a stick and not hit a former cheerleader, class president, homecoming queen or 4.0 student. I truly think the Ole Miss Sororities attract the best.
