I don't understand why parents feel the need to be here on bid day. I even know someone whose mom came in from California. My relatives who were in houses years and years ago said no parent would have dreamed of showing up. And there were no Bid Day Baskets or rush week gifts. Maybe it's just me, but I think that's over the top. Does anyone know when it began and why?
