Celebrate. Be happy. Wear your merch. Be proud. You're about to meet your best friends, future roommates, travel partners, and make life long connections. Sororities were created to establish a community for women in universities to thrive and connect, when women were barely allowed to even have an education and be on a college campus. Most of the houses you all just joined have been on IU's campus for over 100 years. Yeah sure ranks are based on pairs and partying, and that's determined by boys who have too much free time on their hands. But that's not what being in a sorority is about. This is the very essence of women thriving, putting ourselves first, opening our horizons, and finding ourselves. You have a huge opportunity in front of you, use it wisely. We just let the boys and some unfortunate girls debate amongst themselves who's hot and whatnot on here, but we very much don't care what they think. Because we actually have brains and know we're not reduced to a guy's idea of attractiveness and let that dictate who we, our sisters, and our house is. Of course, that's all women are good for for these guys. But we just let them argue with each other in the corner while we have fun. A boy's perception of you and your house is the last thing that defines you and your house. Bold of them to think we care. Have so much fun and welcome to greek life!
