Subject:
THE TRUTH about informal rush

Poster Message:
RHO GAMMAS ARE ACTUALLY DECEIVING YOU ALL. Informal recruitment is NOT a “second chance” at rush. They make it seem like everyone has a shot which isn’t at all true, and it really sucks because so many PNMs drop formal rush because they’re under the impression that they can get in through informal. I’m sorry but that’s not the case. Each of the 22 houses chooses whether or not they want to opt in to participating in informal rush. Some do for various individual reasons, but most houses don’t. You will 100% see bottom houses hosting informal rush, most likely they will host open events where all of those interested in joining can attend. If you see a mid, uppermid, or top house participating it is not because they need numbers. It’s because there are a few select girls they want to bid and the only way of extending those bids is opting in to participate in informal. But they are not hosting rush events like bottom houses, they host INVITE ONLY events where they individually reach out to girls, so no matter how much you beg and email them saying you’re interested, you won’t be invited unless they already are interested in you. Having gone through formal rush does give you more chances of being invited, because they already met you and if you impressed them and slipped through the cracks you might get a call or a text. But there are usually hundreds of PNMs who sign up for informal, but each house (except for bottom) take about 5 girls through informal. TPA, ASA, DPHIE usually take as many as they can. So I’m very sorry if your rho gamma deceived you and gave you the impression that informal was a good alternative. It’s actually extremely exclusive.
