Yea technically it is harder because there’s no formal procedure, each house holds events whenever and however they want, and invite however many PNMs they want to. Usually around 20 PNMs are invited to events (at least for uppermid/top houses) and around 10 or less end up getting bids. So the PNMs invited are ones that the houses already have their eye on, either by knowing them personally, being friends with someone in the house, or having gone through formal recruitment and made an impression. The events are invite only to attend, so houses will reach out to the PNMs with an invite and only those select few can attend. It then varies, some houses do coffee chats, some houses invite girls for dinner, some have some kind of sisterhood-like activity. And then they call you back to either extend you a bid or not. Some chapters like TPA, ASA, DPHIE always hold informal recruitment and do an open-invite event, so anyone interested can attend, but obviously those houses are not the most desired so not sure how many girls go to those events. Once the semester starts, PHA usually releases an interest form on their website for PNMs to fill out if they would like to participate in informal recruitment, so houses have your contact info to reach out to you. Make sure to fill that out, and I also recommend emailing houses that you’re particularly interested in and expressing your interest. PHA will release a list of houses participating once the semester starts. Hope I answered everything! I joined my chapter through informal so lmk if you have any other questions
