Believe it or not but some houses may have cut you for GPA. A lot of houses have higher standards than the minimum to go through rush. All things being equal, the girls with lower GPAs tend to get cut first especially in the early rounds. There are several houses with an average house GPA of 3.4 and higher so your 3.1 could have pushed you down in their rankings even if they really liked you.
