Please please please don't take greek life too seriously!! Don't take the system personally. If a house you like drops you, that doesn't mean anything about your self worth! If you decide to drop recruitment altogether, that's ok! That's a personal decision and nobody should judge you for that. No house is perfect, so don't give up if the "perfect" house drops you.
