For what it’s worth, Theta is the oldest sorority at IU. They have strong alumnae support and lots of wealthy alums even though the “outdated” condition of their house doesn’t reflect it. They are VERY strong nationally. Early on they were VERY sought after...social and old Indiana money. Now they are okay, but just sort of “there”. They do gets lots of legacies. Alpha Xi has been on campus for several years, but they don’t have the wealthy alumnae that others have. They’ve always been pretty middle tier and have a very average to below national presence. However, they recruit from all over the place, have East Coast and Chicago-area girls and have always been a bit edgy. AOPi is a re-do of a fairly old chapter that was closed over 20 years ago for inability to rush and maintain membership. Their Hdqtrs. gambled with a new house a few years later and they’ve done okay. They’re sort of a “safe” choice for very average small-town girls. Good grades, okay activities.
