There have historically been about 1800 women register. That number drops about a hundred when the process starts based on grades, change of heart, etc. Ultimately about 1300 are matched. There are about 400 or so every year that drop during the process because they somehow think there are only a handful of houses that are "good enough" for them and drop when they get cut from those houses. Best advice I can give is don't be that girl. Don't be rude to houses that you think you are "too good" for. Keep an open mind. Remember if you go to a house and you don't click with the person you are talking to, she is one of 200. If you can't find a handful of ladies to click with out of 200 members, the problem is you. There are great girls in every single house. Get a great GPA first semester. Seriously, most chapters look at GPA and activities. Go to Greek philanthropy events whenever you can. They welcome freshmen there. It will give you a better chance to learn about the chapter and meet members casually. If you have class with Greek women, ask them about their experience. It's not weird. Greeks are friendly, for the most part, and like talking about why they pledged and what they enjoy about their membership. Good luck.
