Checklisting only affects the chapters themselves, not the landlords, and here's why: The chapter rents the property from the landlord with one big payment, let's say $200,000 for the semester. The chapter is liable for this payment regardless of the number of inhabitants, etc. If members are behind on rent, the chapter is still liable for this payment, but it can checklist members to make sure they pay eventually. Regardless of checklisting, landlords get paid by the housing board of the chapter.
